We've just returned from Lisbon, Portugal, where BMW held its press launch for the BMW 4 Series (our review to come). While you've seen plenty of photos of the 4 Series in M Sport and its separate lines, here is the first look at the upcoming M Performance Parts for the 4 Series.

Performance Parts:

BMW will finally offer an optional limited slip differential (LSD) as part of the M Performance Parts catalog. The LSD will be a clutch type unit and feature a 30% lockup. LSD may be offered for other models eventually, depending on how well it sells for the 4 Series.

The M Performance LSD will join the other mechanical upgrades we have seen in the F30 3 Series Catalog - the M Performance Power Kit (+33 hp / + 37 lb-ft), exhaust system, brakes, suspension (10mm lowering), and a new style 20" M Performance wheels.

Cosmetic Parts:

The M Performance aero parts include the carbon fiber front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and mirror caps. It also includes black sides kirt blades and kidney grilles. The sides of the car feature M Performance stripes. Like the F30, the front splitter and rear diffusers require the M Sport Package bumpers.

Interior:

The interior includes: alcantara dashboard, carbon interior trim with alcantara, M Performance alcantara steering wheel with race display, carbon fiber trim and contrast stitching, carbon fiber gearshift lever with alcantara gaiter, stainless steel pedal covers / footrest, carbon fiber hand brake lever with alcantara gaiter, and M Performance floor mats.

As for availability? The F32 M Performance Parts will be available from November 2013.

Amazing what body kits can do for this car.

I also second the notion that at this point, you should just get an M3/M4

Garage List
2013 BMW 335i  [0.00]
M4 will likely have a premium like the 6 series over the 5 series. time will tell.

Looks really good, I wonder what is the total price for all of the exterior cosmetic mods? 5-6K?

Wow, the LSD is a game changing option for the 4 series...wonder why they can't offer it for the 3?

I asked BMW this today, they said no such plans.

More to come from our Q&A with BMW in Portugal.

Can't? Or just haven't yet? I'm betting they were saving it for the 4er introduction and it will work its way into the 3er as well.

Early adopters (current f30 owners) sometimes pay the price.

The day the LSD option becomes available for the F30 is the day I will gladly yell, "Shut up and take my money, BMW."
