Willow Springs Track Day - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

I had the opportunity to track my 335i at Willow Springs in California; I have never taken the car to the track before. I decided to take it rather than my usual track car, a Roush Mustang Stage 3, and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed. The Bimmer handles incredibly well, and the M-performance brakes are extremely good. I was able to keep up or pass some of the fastest cars on the track, including Porsche 911’s, M3’s, STI’s, Evo’s, Mustangs and Corvettes. The fastest lap for the day in our group was 1:35 matched by a Porsche RS 4.0 and a Ferrari 458 Italia. My fastest time was 1:50, which I felt was decent, considering it was my first time at this track and the first time out with the 335i. Then I had a NASCAR driver get in the driver’s seat and I sat shotgun, he was wicked fast and turned a time of 1:42, up there with 2 M3’s and better than most the cars on the track that day. The best part is he says he wasn’t pushing it and could have done better….

Great Post. I said it and I will say it again the F30 is fast if you know how to drive.

You can sometimes find them for sale by dealers on eBay for like $3100. Still a lot.

I've driven and been driven around Willow Springs on several occasions and wish I still lived in CA so I could visit it more. Glad the bimmer performed well.

What's your suspension and tire setup?
Or are the brakes the only mods besides the 20" rims?

This is what I have: 2012 335i Sport Line, M Performace Brake System, M Performance Double-Spoke 405M, 20" Lightweight Forged Wheels, M Performace Exhaust, M Performance Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps, Tech and Premium Packages
