Does your Android work at all with iDrive?

Android is generally less usable with iDrive than iOS. Possibly even less usable than iOS6. Pains me to say it but there you go. |

Yep, fraid this is true. I have an HTC One X and I can only view & reply to text messages via BMW integrated office app. This is inline with BMW's website. No access to email or calendar.
This irks me quite a bit, as Android is the fastest growing mobile OS, with monthly sales well ahead of iPhones. I think BMW got their brand alignment wrong here: there is far more in common between Audi & Apple than between BMW & Apple. Guess we'll have to wait a while for Android integration to come good :-( |

Surely it's to do with Android brand 'fragmentation' though. Think how many different (outdated) Android versions and handsets there are out there. Not to say the various UIs like Samsung's TouchWiz or HTC's Sense. The only 'pure' Android handsets that compare with iPhones are the Nexus devices and they sell in tiny numbers.
iPhones are much of a muchness, generally run the most up to date version of iOS and I would guess are the easiest to support. I can't blame BMW for following Apple even though it annoys me. |

Anyway, I share your annoyance ... let's hope they try for more integration soon. |

It will no receive texts but not send - as others have mentioned.. Calendar appointments appear but no emails?
There is not enough tea in china to go Android right now..... What actually does work? Lumia? Z10?

Although I agree it is handy having texts displayed on the screen, and then you try the reply option and can dictate a message which works really well and accurately, it's just frustrating that you hit send and find it doesn't work.
