BMW,

Please stop spending money on the GT concept and reduce the price of other vehicles that don't look like an abortion of design.

Sincerely, e92 owner and future 4 series owner.

The vent is supposed to be functional. It reduces the drag from the wheel well, or at least that's what the press release says.

I love the leg room in the back...that's one thing the E9X and F30 are lacking. I like the practicality of the GT but hate the aesthetics...looks like a pregnant duck.

WTF BMW. This car sounds good on paper but the execution is horrible.

Really? A dynamic rear wing?

I'll agree the 5GT is worse, but it's like shooting fish in a barrel at this point.

The boomerang side vents look soooo crappy. Like a poorly designed after thought. Is this the new KIA?

Seems to me that BMW is taking a swing at SUVs. Most Americans don't like station wagons. Don't know why but we don't. But we like SUVs, the x6 is a very appealing design, very sporty and aggressive looking. Now look at the gts the 3 and the 5 gts, they take design cues from the x6. The gts give you more room, like an SUV, and a design that kinda feels like an SUV, but use an already existing platform, which reduces r&d and production costs. They are taking a risk and trying to capture SUV market share. Also has the possibility of capturing some of the stretch market in china where limos are big.

Backwards black 7's behind the front wheels. Why not have black 3's behind the front wheels?

Is this car also front wheel drive?

What market segment is this one shooting for? The station-wagon-with-big-spoiler-loving-crowd?

I am sure the Brady bunch would have owned one.

I really like the design actually, it looks like a coupe. Of course not compared to actual coupe. As far as overall proportions, it's like hybrid between a coupe and a X6.
It's for people that need more room than a sedan, bit more more stylish than a hatchback, and don't want to climb onto an SAV.
It's the best it can be, design wise at least, for people that are in need of a car like this. Thumbs up.

I'm a fan of BMW tourings, and have owned three, but I'm intrigued by the 3GT mainly for the increased rear legroom and space. My kids love the space in the back of our E38 LWB and complain when they're in the back of the E28.
While the F31 looks great, I think the increased rear sear room makes a strong point for the F34.

When you talk to any of BMW's designers, the first thing you will here is PROPORTIONS. They are kind of obsessed with proportions, but here, with this side vent, I just don't understand their logic of proportions anymore. It's so small compared to the size of the panel its sitting on... It should be way larger or not to be there at all. Do you guys agree with me on his particular one?

Who here wouldn't rather have a 5 series wagon? I'm just saying, why bring this to the states and not that big beautiful wagon.

It's hard to fight with the physics of the thing - it needs to be a certain size to move a certain amount of air. You can play with the size of windows, doors, etc., but not some things. You can blame the mandated economy rules - every little bit to save energy counts.

Exactly my thought! I don't need a SUV or even any type/variant of sedan but always admire how the X6 (or more so X6///M). This GT looks good by looking similar to that shape. I'll check it out in person when it's in showroom.
