Maybe I am among the minorities here, but to me the 3GT looks way more exciting and sophisticated than both the sedan and touring. IMHO, cars such as F32 Gran Coupe and F34 Gran Tourism will slowly take the positions of normal sedan and touring as the latter two looks dated and plain in comparison.
Just my thoughts, please don't hate. |

The GT was hideous the first time I saw it. Now that my mind and eyes have had time to get used to it... it's still hideous.
People, please stop buying these things. If nobody bought them, they would go back to selling wagons. It never ceases to amaze me how many people who drive an SUV say they would never drive a wagon. Idiots. The differences between an suv and a wagon: SUV is heavier, higher center of gravity, lousy handling, longer braking distance, worse gas mileage, all for the privilege of having the exact same amount of interior room. If they sold a 5 series all wheel drive touring, why would I choose an x5 over that. What advantages would it have? Same with a 3 series wagon vs. x3. I'm probably going to trade in my pickup next winter for an x5 to be my winter beater, but if they sold the touring here, that would be my choice. A few simple things can really make a touring look sharp. Subtle lowering, slightly wider wheels and tires, and window tint and you've got a nice looking ride. Better looking than an SUV. GT is not even in my discussion 'cause I wouldn't park one in my driveway if it was given to me for free.

but the touring just makes so much more sense... and looks better. And what are those black boomerang things on the front qtrs?.. and its goofey, oversized lights... that looks like it has clogged tear ducts.

Wagon is Hot in Red
Touring Wagon either way its my choice.
Of course BMW NA will not bring the best engines. They will bring in Automatic x-Drive 4 banger and wonder why the we don't buy. Of course the X1 gets the 3.5i and the X3 does as well. I want a 6 speed M-Sport 3.5i wagon! |
