Is the auto start-stop linked to a specific key?
Yesterday my husband forgot my keys were in his coat and he took them to work, so I had to use the spare key. We've had the car 6 weeks but this is the first time we used this key. I was out most of the morning, the engine was warm, and it was a miraculous 50 degrees out, but the a.s/s didn't engage. Normally it does in these conditions.
Is the feature linked/coded to the specific key? I've never minded it turning on, I'm just curious why with that key it didn't. I figured it would be an all or nothing feature, not key specific (if it in fact is).

Not sure if this addresses the technical workings of A.S.S. but if you had your A.S.S. reconfigured so that it remembers the last user setting, then YES it is linked to a specific key. Thus, you should bring in both keys to have it reconfigured to the A.S.S. IF you had BMW update the A.S.S. software to remember the "last user setting".
Both my keys work great with the reconfiguration. |
