Handling better? I read somewhere that a car shod with 18" was faster round a track than the one with 19".

Anyway, you're happy with 19", I'm delighted with 18" and have already cited many of the latter's advantages. End of story.

19" will be £100 more per wheel to change. Each to their own.
I am with the 18" if only they were 7 spoke, just have to keep looking.

Not sure it's for you to determine when the debate is finished?
I read somewhere that a car on 20" was faster than one on 19's

Ha, ha!
End of story for me. Sorry if I appeared rude.

Nope, on Black circles 19" 255's RFT's are £6 per tyre cheaper than the same 255 18's

It's subjective, but in my opinion the 19" 403's are the only wheel I would consider on the F3x. Everything else doesn't look like it suites the M sport (which is the only variant I would consider as well).

I don't really mind if it makes the ride harder, having M sport suspension messed that bit up... but it's what you expect so get used to it.

Anyway subjective it is... and just as well as the less people riding 403's the nicer they look for those who are (or at least in our minds!)

Does anyone know if the 19" 405 alloys from the f20 will fit the f30?

Cheers

Should do as the PCD (5x120) and Centre bore (72.5) are the same for F10, F20 and F30. You just need to ensure the ET is correct.

Just ordered a 330d xDrive M Sport Touring with 403 M's! Is the corrosion problem with these wheels common? :-(

19" rims fill the wheel arches and look great. I hate seeing a gap under the wheel arch. Just get used to watching for potholes!

FWIW, my 403's have completed nearly 2000 miles with no sign of corrosion although it is early days. If any does appear, I would expect this to be covered under warranty anyway.

Perhaps those 7 spokes on 19" ones make the wheel stronger than the 5 spoke 18" ones, though the 19" ones are a bugger to clean IMO.
I hate cleaning cars. Never washed a car myself and never will.

Nice to see someone looking out for the car cleaners, did they give you the thumbs up on 18's over 19's?

The 18's with tyres are the same diameter as the19's with tyres so there is no gap difference under the wheel arch

It's a bit of an optical illusion as on the 18's there's less silver wheel and more black tyre wall which blends into the dark wheel arch.

Always end up washing the car myself. Don't trust anybody else not to scratch the car.

I've become so lazy, that I've got someone special to even wash my aged lithe body!
