Looks way better than the 5 series GT... but damn, it's even heavier than the touring?
Looks like it's not coming to the US anyway so what am I complaining about.

I'd prefer a real wagon in principle, but this thing seems to have a lot of interior space. With a steep discount, maybe this would make a great family car. So keep on hatin' guys! |

No Thanks, another fail. WTF is wrong with BMW. Producing cars that nobody wants.
It must be very cheep to produce all those variations. No one would spend all that development money and sell only handful of cars. Pass

Nice Mom mobile... lol
At least it's better than the X1 in my opinion.

I like it... though the modern line pictured looks horrible.
The wagon's only offer trunk/boot space. Some people's idea of practicality is giving their passengers more space, not their luggage.

I'm seriously considering this instead of F31 I was planning to get:
F34 > F31: - Rear legroom - Cargo capacity (yes, it's 60 liters more with seats down, and significantly larger area to put flat things on) - Potential availability of drivetrains other than xDrive with automatic (though chances are small for RWD - MY2014 list only shows xDrives, and I won't be surprised if we only get automatics too) - 335i version will be available (not my cup of tea, but there're plenty of people who'll want this engine) - Built in Dingolfing alongside F10 and F01 F31 > F34 - F34 will definitely be more expensive - Looks |

The only....and I mean ONLY....thing I like is that BMW has finally decided to extend the dashboard's trim strip (blue, aluminum, pearl, etc) to the upper door panels both front and rear. This makes the interior (dash/side panel integration) look a bit more polished. In regular 3er's, this door panel strip is the same vinyl color as the door panels and the dash/door panel flow, particularly if it's black in a non-black interior, just isn't there.

I like it. But then again, I liked the 5GT too. Decent family car without having to move to a mini-SUV.

Also, it has more rear head room than the sedan, and more (only 1mm admittedly) than the Tourer.

I honestly can't see what this car does that isn't already done by other bmws, such as the 3er touring, the x3 or even the x1.
Even though I do like the overall design on the front end (the headlights, in particular, look better than on the regular f30, IMHO) the proportions and the back end are just off. And finally, it's not like this thing is going to drive or handle itself any better than the 3er touring, carrying that extra weight and all... Hmm, a thought just crossed my mind - do you guys think there'll be an m3gt?? THAT would be awful. |

Doesn't look bad. The only thing I just don't understand is why it's raised. It's not like it has xDrive, and even then, that would overlap with BMW's "SAV" X1/3/5. With no xDrive, it removes the small bit of light off roading capabilities this would have. A touring would seem like a much better buy over this any day. The active moving rear spoiler sounds pretty neat, and seems like something that would be interesting on future BMWs.

F31 - less rear legroom, less rear cargo volume. Some people may prefer higher seating position of 3 GT. X3 - drives like a SUV, not a car. Enough said ![]() |
