2200 miles... Car still says 14k until service. Whats wrong? - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

It's normal.

The miles until service decrements in 1,000 mile units until it gets to about 3,000 miles or so, then it goes by hundreds.

You aren't that far off, it should drop to 13,000 miles soon.

I'm at 15,100 miles and still have 1,200 miles left until the first oil service is due.

Ok. Because its been saying 14000 ever since I got the car. It never changed. I thought it would be 1yr or 15k Whichever is first.

Do you know if it would reset if I go in for a out of cycle oil change. I'm planning at 6.5k to go in and pay for it and have my normal free one at 15k.

It won't reset.

I did an out-of-cycle oil change at 4,600 miles.

The 15K miles is approximate. If you drive "lightly", you will extend the range between oil changes. If you drive "heavily" (or on the track), the CBS will reduce the time/miles between changes.

ok. How much did they charge you for out of cycle oil change?

$150. I had a coupon from when I bought it which knocked $50 off of that.

They put 7 quarts in my 328i. I couldn't believe a 2.0L engine could take 7 quarts of oil!

That makes me wonder how many quarts for a 335i then...
