Thanks cKau, though i dont need to deprioritise driving enjoyment that far; my wifes car is an x3 which is the primary hauler, but i need 4 doors, a little space and ability to put surfboards on the roof; thats why i was thinking f31 with lots of toys; i do like the idea of the porsche macan though it seems a while off...

How about the Audi A6 Allroad? That would be my pick if i had family but didnt want the Toureg's offroad ability.
