Thanks cKau, though i dont need to deprioritise driving enjoyment that far; my wifes car is an x3 which is the primary hauler, but i need 4 doors, a little space and ability to put surfboards on the roof; thats why i was thinking f31 with lots of toys; i do like the idea of the porsche macan though it seems a while off...

Ha! Fair enough, though at 5.1 sec 0-100, it's no slouch - that biturbo diesel is similar spec to that in the m performance x5s and x6s. Still, I take the point that audis aren't bmws. Trouble is there are a few holes in the local range. Give me a f31 330d, or x3 35d...; ah well, I have some time to figure it out.

Excellent taste!

Drove one last weekend. Very impressive (I owned an 04 for 3 years and this is miles better). Superb finish, lots of toys, plenty of adjustability on suspension, but pricey. 119k for a demo, still, it's on my mind, definitely an excellent vehicle.
