The grill is not as jarring as the red one is a hybrid and not the F sport guise. Seems that the sporting package is the ugly option on the Lexus.

You can really see the toyota-esque headlights.

The red one only looks better because it blends the blasphemy going on in the tail lights which stretch around the side of the vehicle. Also, I think the grill looks better on the GS.

The earlier photos didn't do it justice ... but now with the NAIAS official reveal, this IS is looking very convincing and promising !!

I am practically sold ! Looking much nicer than i expected and I have to admit, i was wrong for calling ugly a few days ago.

i really like now this turns out to be! Gorgeous in Red or Dark colors !! White doesn't really do it justice. looks like a great quality built car with great dynamics from what we hear...

Another success...

I can't wait to see a general match

A4, 3series, ATS, C-class, IS, Q50 fight !

Front end is too much for me, the taillights are just wayyyy to ugly. I would not want to have a sports car with electronic steering. The BMW interior is noticeable race inspired!

The front end is over wrought but other than that this new IS looks really nice.
It's got a great side profile and I really like the rear end, very sporty.

F30 Msport is very nice too, that's why I choose one, but BMW didn't finish the rear end very well and that's it's biggest let down.

The IS interior looks pretty cool too, very nice.

So, the IS front isn't so great and the Msport rear is not so great.
Both are nice. The IS looks more "sporty" if that is what you're looking for.
It's got lots of cool styling cues.

Lot's of cool choices these days for sport sedans in terms of different styling.
I'm looking forward to all of the new sport sedans being reviewed and compared.
With the ATS stealing some of BMW's 3 series thunder it'll be interesting to see how the IS and new Q50 do in comparison.

You have to give Japanese designers some credit for doing something other than copying successful designs from BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Porsche & everybody else. That being said, none of my money is EVER going to Japan so they can make whatever...I'm never buying it.

So if a Japanese manufacturer made a beautiful car that blew away the competition in terms of performance you would NEVER buy it because it is made in Japan

You might miss out on a great car someday... there is more to automobile world than Western Europe. I'm not saying I love this design either but I judge the car on its own merits and not where is comes from.

P.S. I bet this car fairs VERY well (looks aside which are purely subjective anyway) with its German counterparts in terms of performance... maybe better... we'll have to wait to independent reviews.
