Cig lighter socket doesnt cut power? - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

I just installed a driving recorder and i realised that after engine off and doors are lock power is still supplied to the 12v socket??

Is this normal or is my car coded wrongly from the dealer

Yes for about 15 minutes or so, then it's off.

I see, that's really weird though. If we plugged in a gps plus 2 recorders I'd imagine the devices would be draining a fair bit of battery in 15mins

have you seen the size of the battery?
