I'm fairly certain this only works with the iPhone 4/4s and not iPod touch

Ya. The Media adapter + iPod-out feature has nothing to do with BMW Assist.

Checked my settings and didn't see anything regarding PM messaging being turned off. I read on another post somewhere that it could be due to the fact that i'm a newbie and haven't had enough activity. I think I may need to have 10 posts before it is enabled, but this could just be hear-say.

This is the message I have regarding my account.
