I would not be shocked to see a $2500 difference, BMW wants to steal customers from Audi and Mercedes (and others) so putting the premium too high wouldn't be a great strategy, plus thats basically $2500 extra profit compared to the F30, you can't tell me the F32 costs any more to make!

What I think will distinguish the F32 from the F30 and bring the price skyrocketing is the extra luxury options it will have that the "3 series" won't, like maybe nappa leather, LED lights, night vision... LED lights and Nappa/novillo leather could add $3K alone. You can get a F30 xdrive for around $62K right now if you tick every box, I bet the F32 will be close to $70K if you tick every box, of course it would have more features.

I just hope the GC isn't priced too high above the coupe or F30. I think there are plenty of people willing to pay for a 6 GC and pay the premium but people who buy 3 & 5 series (and now 4 series) care about value a lot more, I don't see anyone willing to spend $6K more for a 4 GC over a 3 sedan with the same options.

I live in Germany and I can tell you that the price translates very nicely for us. I have a 2012 loaded 335is that I paid $53,000 (€41,000) for and when I go to the dealership here in Germany I look around at the German spec cars. A BASE 335i with cloth seats, no navi, not much of anything as far as options go is about €50,000. That calculates to about $64,700!! I say It translates very well!

Yeah, that is why I said "looks".
I was of coarse being facetious, to make the point that 3 series is getting bigger & that the 4 series is even more so.

Secondly, the 3 series has grown 10" over the years... and then BMW thinks that if someone want a less-larger car, they also want less quality.

Possibly apart from LED lights, the other options will be available on the F30.

All i know is if the new 4 looks this great i cant wait for the new 2. This looks like a touring car. Im into handles. Thats the joy of a bmw i dont care about exclusivity i care about drivability. The new 2 will have the handles of AI. Better yet the handles of hot sauce!

Does anyone have knowledge or educated speculation on where or more importantly, how many 4s will be part of initial production capacity?

I hope that BMW isn't intent on setting a high premium for it and enforcing pricing via low production volumes.

I was ready to pull the trigger on a 335is until the recent 4 Series pics hit the interweb. It seems like there is a good ability to deal on 335is' at the moment while the 4 Series w/ M Sport may be much harder to do so at launch.

Sounds like BMW will eventually phase out the BMW 3 series coupe. There will be no need for one if there is a 2 series and a 4 series for only $2,800 American more. I mean if that is really the case, it's a no brainer. You buy the 4 coupe over the 3 coupe.

BMW has already phased out the 3 series coupe. The 4 series coupe replaces the 3 series coupe. No more 3 series coupe once the 4 series coupe comes out next year.

I'm with you, but all indications are that it's not happening unfortunately.
