Finally made the decision today: F30, not E90
After almost signing the papers on a 2009 E90 335 XDrive, manual, all options (No M Sport, but has front/rear PDC and active cruise! - only missing auto high beams), 1200 miles, I saw all the new F30s at the dealer and my mind began to wonder. Because the E90 is across the country, and it has so many options, I would end up putting $14k to get the car, plus payments of $495 for 60 months. Why not get an F30 with all options, do Euro Delivery and call it a day?
So that's what I finally decided! F30 335 X Drive, M Sport, Estoril Blue, all options, but awaiting the 2014 MY because I really want the updated nav, and am curious what they'll add for the new year. I would probably pull the trigger on the 2013 if someone could confirm the new Nav is in production now. Anyway, I'll be amongst all you lucky F30 owners soon! My only hesitation was the over assisted steering on the F30s... but I figure I'll get over that. The E90 was brutally heavy anyway... |

Thats a long time to wait for just nav I decided my sense of direction is good enough and the last time I needed nav for anything was my euro-delivery. If you can handle the wait then go for it, me personal 2 more months til my car gets here is killing me inside...

It could be a brutal wait. Assume that MY2014 production starts in July, the earliest ED date will likely be October. You want to wait 11 months (!), after you've made up your mind? Find one on the lot, or wait the 2 months for them to build you one.

Better hardware, so it's faster, and nicer graphics. Not sure if it yet gets the touch-sensitive iDrive wheel thingimabob.

Definitely does not have the Touch controller. Probably next year, but maybe not even then for US market. |

I couldn't wait. Found it on the lot....I think waiting until MY 2014 for NAV is goofy. IMO.

It IS goofy, especially when you don't know how much better it's going to be than the current nav. Why wait for something that might be just marginally better. I'd wait for a 350hp engine but for a new nav...NOT.

Well technically we do know about the new Nav. I've played with it a few times, and it's quite nice. An improvement over the older/current Nav.

BMW has already said that this new nav is NOT going to be available for US bound cars until 2014. For me, I'm NOT going to wait this long for one feature and neither are most other people. Just a guess. I have no doubt it's better but is it worth the wait??
