M Performance Exhaust on the F30? - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

I just purchased a 2012 335i (F30) and wanted to get some Dinan parts installed prior to picking it up next week - only to find that Dinan hasn't released anything.

I ended up getting the dealership to match the 15% special Dinan is currently offering, and got the exhaust purchased and installed for $1100 (or something).

First, I haven't seen "exhaustive" reviews of the M Performance on the 2012-2013 F30's...any thoughts?

Sound?
Sight?
Fury?

Additionally, I don't expect massive gains (Dinan quotes only a few for their exhaust system), but has anyone actually dynoed pre and post?

seriously OP? like 10 out of the top 15 hits in this section all specifically mention the exhaust in their title ... use an already established thread to post questions etc. help us keep the clutter clean

you need about 1000 miles to break down the sound insulation, it sounds better over time everyone says. how do you think it compares to stock?

OH! That explains it...yeah, it's breaking in for sure, it's got a stink to it right now...(burning stink).

Compared to stock, distinct, but not V8 loud. In sport, the burble is awesome. You won't hear it under comfort or Eco Pro.

When you want to hear it (WOT), it's about 15% more noticeable. The HKS exhaust would be louder (if that's an option for some).

Mine was recorded in my garage, so it should've been louder...I think the breakin period might be warranted for a full assessment, the 15% louder is my opinion.

yup...i drive 120 miles a day, which doesnt incude days i'm in class, wich adds an additional 50 miles to the commute.

i'm the self-proclaimed long-term tester for the boards

So from the videos I just watched, the exhaust sounds pretty soft when it is first installed and not broken in, but after 1K Miles and broken in, it sounds deep and nice.

Is this the consensus with everyone who has one of these exhausts?

Yup, and I'm at a total of 1500 miles on it now, and it's still getting deeper...I'm loving it.
