H&R Sport Springs-- first impressions - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

Before anyone says it, I know this thread is worthless without pics, I will post them tomorrow, it was dark by the time I got back from testing out the new springs and exhaust.

I just picked up my 335i M Sport this evening after having H&R Sports installed. The drop looks very nice--it's subtle and clearly lower than stock, but doesn't look slammed. I forgot to take measurements for before and after, but it's noticeably lower to me; I will, however, say that most people who aren't familiar with the car probably won't look at and immediately think "that car is lowered."

Over the course of a couple of hours I covered most types of road surfaces. The suspension is noticeably stiffer in cornering, but not a dramatic change. The overall ride comfort is suprisingly close to stock. (note, I have the adaptive suspension) I took it out to some excellent winding and twisting roads and pushed the car pretty hard; it always felt planted and confident. I did notice on some gently undulating/wavy pavement at high speed that the dampers couldn't control the rebound as tightly as I would like, but so far I never felt like the car is "bouncy" like I have experienced on previous cars with stiffer and lower springs on the stock dampers. I need to put on some more miles, but so far I am very pleased with the results from the H&R sport springs.

Wheels were delivered last night, I will install them ASAP after I leave the office today and then grab a few pics of the whole package.

If it's not too late, I wouldn't mind seeing a few quick pics with the stock wheels, just to get an idea of what the lowered ride height looks like with those.

I too would like to see some pictures with the stock 18" wheels. Want to see the drop on it since you have H&R sports, I'm planning on getting the H&R super sports which are a bit lower.

Sorry, I didn't snap any pics on the H&R sports with the stock 18in M Sport wheels before I installed the new set. I will say, since installing the springs on Saturday, I have been noticing this week (on stock and new wheels) that at some angles the car looks too low, even on the sports...(I never thought this in photos, it's just something I'm noticing when I see it in person now) I know I would be disappointed in the super sports...I definitely don't want it to look "slammed," just a little lower and more aggressive than the stock ride height.

Glad you're liking it thus far... any issues with speed bumps? if you had them installed, what did it run you if you don't mind sharing?

here is a close up on a sport line 18" w/ h&r sport if that helps you out at all. i roll the longer type of speed bumps at 25mph every morning with no trouble. even decent inclines are easy because of how long the wheelbase is with low overhangs.

Wow, it seems to sit so high in that photo. My 335i didn't look that high with the factory 18" M Sports. Here are some pics of my 335i with the 19" F10 M5 reps and 255/35 rears and 225/40 front tires:

I haven't experienced any problems with speed bumps, etc. I have, however, already scraped the underside of the front fascia when I pulled just a little too far foward in my office parking lot...the M Sport front bumper cover hangs pretty low now.

Indeed it does look high. I measured from the top of my wheel to the bottom of the fender and it's 3.81" on 18's, so 3.31" for you would be equal with 19's right?. That picture was taken from the center of the wheel level not top down.
