Updated Nav - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

We've ordered 2 x 330d M Sports with 2 different ETAs even though they were both ordered at the same time: 12/11 and 17/12.
Will the latter one have the updated Nav or will they both be of the same spec?

I would say (err guess) one will have the new nav, and the other will not...

The earlier one will definitely be OLD nav

The later one is difficult to say. The ETA is usually the day they expect it to be ready i.e. PDI'd, transported to dealer, etc This can be a month later than the production date.

Do you know the production date? If week 45 (week commencing 12th November I think) or after then that one will have the new nav.

New nav is way better, much faster CPU, bigger hard drive, better graphics, enhanced features.

Guess the ex is getting the first one right?

Depends if you've ordered the F30's or F31's. F31's will come with the new Nav irrespective of order / build date.

Think the new one has slightly different graphics - menus that 'glow' when selected rather than having a coloured box round them.

Lots of people over in the US forum have been making a big deal of the new nav, but I've not seen any killer new features that make me wish I'd waited

There's a lot of new features that made me decide to cancel my order. If it weren't for the fact that my car would have gone into 2013 production and I'd have missed out on the good pricing I would have

The ex is getting the new Nav probably as her ETA is 17/12. My ETA is 12/11.

I've contacted the dealer and insisted the cars are swapped around! I hope this is possible. Considering all the work I've put into getting these cars, I think it is only fair.

F30am - the reality is that no-one really knows the answer to this, do they. Just cross your fingers, not much else can be done is there.

Are they exactly the same spec? If so tell her you're going away on holiday that week, so as a favour you will let her have the first one

I'm sure the dealer wouldn't have a problem sorting the paperwork out.

The cars are exactly the same spec. I've told the dealer I'm away a few times in November. I've also told them that I MUST HAVE the car with the latest Nav. I can be quite persuasive and I am pretty sure they'll HAVE TO oblige.

Lol, judging by the number of people wanting a 330D, they will probably say....'No problems, sir!' and then sell it at closer to list.

It would not be such a good idea IMO.

They'd tell me in no uncertain terms to go forth and multiply especially as I got just over £7000 (just calculated) discount on each! A pretty darn good deal and then some.

Anyone have any idea how much BMW charge for update discs?

I asked my sales guy about sat nav updates. Said every time it's serviced or comes in they will do updates.

Not sure if its true though, one of those sales done now, he'll say anything to keep me happy including not mentioning future costs.

I've not gone into too much detail about new sat nav. But someone summed it up as functionality wise it, not that different. But hardware wise quite a difference.

Nice to have the new one obviously but When ur driving I dont think u'll mind much.

Cars are BW44 and 48. New Nav BW45.
I've now taken BW48.

But you can always haggle and get it for £150 or even better £50 if you dance for them naked!

Wow, week 44? I would get your dealer to send a note to the factory saying these two cars are ordered by the same person and will be pissed if they come with different navs. They might allow the Week 44 to be fitted with the new one. Worth a try??? Or might fit both with OLD navs, lol
