Garage List
Have you also seen this 0-60mph test on a stock 328i? Ok not something you'll do at the traffic lights every day, but not bad eh...

From my (limited) understanding, the "horsepower at the flywheel" rating is not usually matched by the test performed in the clip....under most rear-wheel hp tests, there is around a 10-15% degredation in power output (unlike in this test). This means the 328i is conservatively rated compared to real world performance.

Nope, as says above the publicised bhp for a 328i is 240bhp at the flywheel. That video is showing 240bhp at the wheels. Bearing in mind transmission losses, that would make the car around 270bhp at the flywheel.

0-60 in under six seconds from a sedate looking four door
saloon with a 2.0 petrol engine that is also clean and efficient. Never mind the horse power, just think how good the 335 might be. BMW engines are in another league.

I am always an bit sceptical about the accuracy of Dyno's, but yes BMW must (and have been before) a bit conservative!

Explains the great 0-60 time. 5.9 seconds

For example the Audi S3 did 0-62 in 5.5 seconds but it did have 265hp and is AWD so will not suffer any wheelspin off the line.

Nissan 350Z is similar weight and RWD and had 276hp to post a 5.9sec. 0-60mph, although is a manual. Can launch harder but perhaps a little slower through the gears.

So can well believe the 328i is pushing out a tad more than the claimed 245hp.
