M Sport Steering Wheel
Any ideas on how to keep it from getting scratched?

Clip your fingernails more often?
Why should a steering wheel scratch? I've clipped mine with keys and my nails and other things and after 10k and no treatment it still looks brand new. Although I once test drove a used G37 where the steering wheel was gouged to hell. I can only imagine based on the amount of ash left over in the ash tray the previous owner was a hair dresser who only drove with her fingernails.

The only steering wheels that are uber sensitive are the Alcantara offerings like the MPerformance or ZHP.
