Does anyone know how they transport F30s (or other BMWs for that matter) to the UK from Germany? Just curious.

They come over by boat to arrive at Immingham and then onto the VDC at Thorne.
Since finding out my car was on the way to the port I tried to work out the route. I was able to narrow it down to ships from Zeebrugge or Cuxhaven but before investigating any further my car was already at Thorne so I gave up ![]() |

After doing a bit more digging I think I have traced the journey my car took to get from Germany to the UK.
From the stickers on the windscreen it has passed through Cuxhaven as expected. It seems Cuxhaven is the port of choice for UK bound cars. From there it boarded the "Asian Breeze" and departed on 18/8 arriving in Southampton on 20/8. I know it was Southampton as the papers stuck inside the front windscreen show that as the port of arrival. I think the port of arrival depends a lot on which ships are in dock that day. The other destination would be Immingham. |
