Any first impressions of the 330d out there ?

Well, my F30 330d was delivered last friday

still in the break-in period of course

it runs smoothly, is very quite (compared to my Honda S2000 ... LOL), auto gearbox is also very smoothly and it accelerates very good (within the 3500 rpm limit that is)

(you've got the same specs than my F30

)

Did you go for the adaptive suspension and harman kardon and if so does the suspension change dramatically between comfort and sport and are you pleased with the sound ?

Yes, I got adaptive suspension and HK

'dramatically' is maybe a bit exaggerated, but the difference is very well noticeable!

I did not yet play enough with the sound; still need to put some music on the harddrive, only played radio for the time being

Mine is due to be delivered on the 6th Sept - I'm told it is due to arrive in the UK this weekend. Should be one of the first to land.

Nice. Mine is silver with sport auto and 19"s on a 59 plate.

I can't put any pics on here as don't know how yet.

Not sure if yours and/or all 530d's are the same but with my two the initial throttle response has a small delay before all the power comes in which I am assuming is turbo-lag.

This is probably the only thing that has distracted from 2 other wise perfect cars.

The F30 320d I test drove had no delay, more like a non-turbo petrol engine which felt superb so I am hoping the 330d twin power will respond more like that.

Yeah mine is just the same, I have the sport auto box so can get around it by leaving it in sport mode or using the flappy paddles to drop a cog. But you're right it is the perfect car, good looking, very quick, roomy and economical. Was heart-broken when I aquaplaned and crashed it into the central reservation on the M18, still got on the TV! Don't like the new 5 series - too big, like a truck.

You will probably be in yours 6 to 8 weeks before I am so I will be interested to know your views on how it compares with the 5, especially the response issue.
