I understand your feelings pretty well!
But you should realize that BMW new models at it's first year is ALWAYS a transition model. After a year or year and a half 3er, 5er, 7er gets new engines, new systems, new technical upgrades and so on. That what I saw with my first BMW 5er e39 and the second 7er e65.

Excuse me for being a little bit off-topic, but I'm quite shocked by US prices for BMW F30 and it's options! For example here in Russia professional navigation option costs about $4600 instead of $2150 in US!! Harman Kardon is even more fun - $2350 vs $875!

Yes, my dealer gave me just the same info around three weeks ago (availability of new iDrive), which is why we placed the order for f30 335 for November production.
The wait will surely kill me, but now I know it's worth it

can somebody explain to me what benefits Connected Drive offers as opposed to just getting the new Sat Nav Pro? Is it mainly the access to the apps, or does it also affect the iDrive, google compatibility, text message/email interface and the LTE?

It's just not clear to me what is Connected Drive and what is part of the upgraded iDrive / Sat Nav.

Yeah, like releasing the 320/325 and replacing it with the 323/328 not long after, usually much more powerful

I am waiting for the 2013 335i Coupe Luxury (to replace my DD) it should have the latest and greatest navigation. I test test drove the 328i 328i Luxury it is a fine automobile
