The difference in person seems far greater... I feel like in person the F10 looks colossal next to the F30, then again, the F30 looks colossal next to an E46. BTW that F10's ride height is atrocious

I do not like the deeper side windows on the F30. F10 has less deep side windows and looks better for it.

This was my initial impression of the F30 when first released. Just thought it was way too high but it's actually been growing on me.

Great thread, love the comparo!

F30 drives well but feels a little downmarketfromthe inside

BMW mba's realized cost cutting was possible. F10 has cost cutting measures as well: less aluminum in the chassis the before. It's a heavy car

No need to compare interiors because the F10 is in a whole different league compared to the F30. Both in space and don't even mention quality. The F10's interior is ranked as one of if not the best in class and looks/feels like it cost twice as much as the F30.

Nice compare, thanks.

Both look great but both desperately need M sport.

I respectfully disagree. For me, the F10 rear seat feels more spacious and I felt there was more headroom in the rear. That said, I really, really wanted to like the F30. I drove it several times in April when I was shopping. Coming from an E93, the F30 left me with the impression that BMW put too much focus on efficiency and cost savings, sacrificing driver experience. Little things like the shape and feel of the idrive buttons left me uninspired and I could not adapt to the sound of the 4 cylinder engine. While I'm still adjusting to the size of the F10, overall it is a much more refined car. That said, I miss the old steering and feel the F10 was a compromise. What I really want is something the size of the F30, with the refinement of the F10, and the connected feel of the last generation.

Would love to see a E92 coupe compared with a F30 sedan.

Yeah I agree with you here. I've been car shopping a lot lately and sat in the back of the f30 and f10 for an extended period of time and there is no comparison with rear seat room. The f10 has tons more room in the rear by far. This was high on my priority list because I wanted to know how much room was left in the back with a baby seat in place. As a matter of fact in real world feel the f30 didn't feel any bigger than my e90 in the front and rear.

Agreed. Both cars looks tons better in Msport trim. It's now pretty much a required package for any BMW

F10 best looking FXX model. Period. (And yes, I don't think the 6er GC comes close to overall looks)

The F10 is definitely more spacious inside, but unless you need the space, the F30 is much more car for your money, and a better driver's car. I had the previous generation 5 before my F30, and it was just boring compared to my E90 and E46....

I know many people already think the F30 looks too much like the F10, but I'd like the new 3 even more if it had the 5's nose. (ignoring the lack of uniqueness, just looking at the F30's styling individually)

Little disappointed withe F30.
I like 3 series more than the 5 just for the driving.
But the F10 interior layout and quality is way better. After me, i would like to have it in the F30. That will be perfect for me.
F30 328i with F10 interior. To bad, i must accept the compromise having a not so good interior in order to enjoy driving

This is just the impression I had when sitting in both and comparing their interiors. F30 inside is almost a little bit larger 1er.
