Price differences around the world for 435i

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I'm an American, was living in Australia for a couple of years and now I am living in Germany. There are some big differences in prices on a 435i in these countries and just wanted to share. I did the cost of a 435i with xDrive, M-sport package, 19" rims, M Sport brakes, Navigation, etc. I used 6.5% in the US, Germany has a 19% standard tax and Australia GST IS 10%, here is what I came up with:

US Price: $62,835 with a 4 year/50,000 mile warranty

GERMAN Price 66,820 ($91,100) 2 year unlimited k's

Australian Price $115,793 ($103,924US) 3 year not sure on miles.

I believe the Aussie price is a basic 435i without xDrive, not sure. The Australian government is definitely getting their cut though.

When I was shopping for 911's two years ago, a new 991 (current model) Carrera S was around $119k USD. In Malaysia, I stopped in their beautiful new showroom and the same vehicle was $335k USD. Import duty and on the road taxes in places like Singapore and Malaysia are incredibly expensive as compared to the United States.

yeah over here (Malaysia) the 435i msport is listed at MYR 525k (USD 160k). I had to pay equivalent of USD 82k for my 320d msport (MYR268k)

In Hong Kong, the base price of 435i M sport with no other option is $868,000HKD ($111,940US) tax included. That's effing M3/4 money.

A 435i sDrive M Sport with Sport AT is 43,155 (US $70,813.04) on the road with 3 yrs BMW warranty. We don't get the xDrive 435i in the UK.

A 435d xDrive M Sport with Sport AT is 45,040 (US $73,924.15) on the road with 3 yrs BMW warranty. The 435d is only available in xDrive.

1 Sterling = US $1.64

But we can also negotiate very healthy discounts of up to 20% to 22.5%. We got the latter figure when we bought two 330d sDrive M Sports.

Yeah, that's crazy how there is that big of a difference between a 420 and 435. They don't offer a 420 in US Spec, but the difference between a 428 and 435 is about $5500. I think I would be a no option 420 guy if I was still there.

In Canada for base:
435i is %54,900 ($51,200 US)
435xi is $55,600 ($52,000 US)

base does include m-sport here. If you are buying the car outright there is also an additional 13% tax here in Ontario. If in Alberta 5%. Not sure about other provinces.

Prices on options:
$4,900 for premium
$1,500 for m performance I
$2,500 for MPPK (m performance II)

Some expensive 435i's here!

South Africa:
435i base (sDrive, auto) - $65K US
420i base (sDrive, manual) - $42K US

Not bad compared to other countries

Thanks for offering this info! I would be curious to see what the median incomes are in relation to the countries as well. I imagine that in America the wages are much lower than Germany or Australia (not that anyone buying a BMW would make minimum wage)

I think it's a rather obtuse but acceptable show that the rich Germans have to pay more for their German manufactured cars. But being a poor Brit I am all for it! Once again Germany to the rescue. They are fast becoming a Global Charity. How very kind and nice they are. Long may it continue for all our sakes.

The Euro has been good for Germany as it is a devalued currency compared to the Mark. It is in Germany's economic interests to ensure the Euro ramains a valid currency much to the annoyance of the USA. If they have to be the paymasters for some of the struggling European countries, then so be it. They can afford it. Nice to have a rich uncle for those in the Eurozone.

It all comes down to what each country charge in taxes. But for our sake in addition to the VAT we also pay one time fees on based on weight, CO2 emissions, NOx and extra equipment other than standard!

Fully loaded today with all as stated above, which also might include HUD, M brakes/suspension, everything thats funny, and that $1 = 6,15NOK which is pretty high compared what is was a couple of years ago. Then our 435i Xdrive AT would look something like this (LOADED!)

1.041.280NOK = $169.399

Well according to the OECD figures as published by wiki (so must be true...) the average disposable income in USD in 2011 is as follows:-

USA 42k
Australia 34.9k
UK 33.5k
Canada 32.6k
Netherlands 29.2k
Sweden 28.3k
France 27.4k
Germany 24.1k!!!!!!!!!!

The poor old Germans have just short of 40% of their pay grabbed by the taxman. They are paying a huge price for being the paymaster of the European Economic Suicide Pact (euro for short).

Might I add Norway to the list for the same period
$73.698 (minus taxes, varies upon the deductions you have, everything from 15%-45% more or less)

And as always, oil and gas employees are one the top if you start dividing the work groups!

Freaking envy u guys can actually own a car with lower price. In Malaysia, everything come expensive and its getting worst recently due to poor governance of our current extremist government. Nevertheless, most of our car with high price of coz comes with high spec. We don't get base spec car over here.

I am blown away by how expensive these cars are around the world, especially in Germany ! I mean to spend 130 000$ for an F32 is absolutely absurd.

I guess we have it pretty good here in Canada

Denmark.. base price without any options added (not even a line),
435i (rear wheel drive only): 879.000 dkk ($160k) -2 year unlimited k's

In Denmark 180% tax is added to the vehicle. Then they combine the total 100% + 180% together and take another 25% VAT out of that... So the price of a $100 car will cost around $350 to buy here. Talking about insane taxing.. So people buy their half loaded 420d for $150k here. Still without leather seating etc. because adding leather seats is a $8k-9k deal...
Even the basic 4er here comes without many options as seen standard in other countries (leather seating etc. is not included)
