Wanna check, is there a way to make sure that the volume of the audio is always to the volume of the last trip before shut down?

Shawn: Could give me the link to d/l the files? The files that i had are from my friends and they are a bit out dated.

It is part of BMW Standard Tools (EDIBIAS, INPA, Tool32, and NCS Expert).

From reading this am i correct in saying that you still need E-SYS for coding and can not use NCS EXPERT for F30

from the FM_body, i see 8%,10% 12%.. each has a hex value. So do I change the werte value at 64 for 8% only?

hi shawnsheridan, i recalled coming across a post from you saying can telnet into the CIC and view whatever files are inside. How do you telnet and what root account and password to use? does it has FTP as will? thanks

Believe it or not, it was done very early on, before E-Sys was "available" to the public, as a means to enable Video In Motion.

Back then the password was cracked, and you could Telnet in and and use the QNX Software Developmental Kit to access the files. As I recall, FTP would not work. Somewhere around a year ago, BMW changed the password scheme, and since then it has not been cracked, and with E-Sys readily "available" now, no one bothers anymore to try and get into it.

Hi Shawn, thanks for sharing!!. I did a brief search on QNX on how it works. Apparently , its can open a terminal session with the remote system and compile codes using C++ . if the password is cracked, does it mean we even add instead of modifying existing functions? i will send you a PM.

I think you can set "Werte" to any value from 00 to 64 HEX for that parameter without editing of "mnemonic value" (%, voltave)

wow! yours can play video? from what source? without 6NR, I can only play DVD, when playing DVD, I recall it does expand to used the whole 8.8" so no little screen problem with DVD.

pray tell how to play video (other than DVD)

If he has the new HU_NBT, it can play Video via the USB Port.

Hu_nbt is from November 2012 and newer if I'm not mistaken.

Also, I'm having issues with my ipod hey... using the y-cable supplied from dealer, it charges the ipod but won't play it via i-drive just as a normal input via AUX. I can play usb sticks via the usb input but it refuses to load my ipod via the i-drive interface. Is there anything I can check coding wise to see if I can figure out if something isn't coded right?

I have 6nh, in the e-sys program I've got HU CHAMP2.

On a positive note, I've got the sports dispay (power/torque) on my business nav now thanks to the coding explain in this thread
