Thanks for showing me this thread. I was about to revert it back to original settings as I don't wanna keep my menu in Chinese, but the album art seems to make the ipod menu more complete. I have no idea on how to change the country settings of HU_CICHB (or HU_ENTRY in my case) though. Anyone can help?

Have removed country controller the coded HU and CMB to enable office and album art. Somehow, Asian language songs cannot be displayed anymore if English is set as the iDrive menu language. Then clarence showed me the thread from another source stating that I have to change the "Country" within HU to Hong Kong. I just did the coding and the Asian characters can now be displayed properly just like before.

Yep, it's all good now. Just not quite understand why removing the country controller enables office and album art, but changing the country of HU just affect the language.

As far as I know, NBT has built in Combox, so it should be possible.

With 6NH, most likely not, but I think you should be able to code it to be 6NK.

Edit your FA (VO) by replacing 6NH with 6NK.

Read this if you do not know how to do so:

Then VO Code your Head Unit:

Connect => Read FA => Activate FA => Read VCM => Right-Click on HU_NBT (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

Unlike HU_CIC, with HU_NBT, you won't see a separate CMB_MEDIA ECU in your SVT, so you need only VO Code HU_NBT.

That's cos country controller is a standard template which, when it exists in the VO, defines a set of codings related to various functions, for which country of HU is just one of the coding in this set.
In our case, S8LHA means disabling various items (e.g. office, album art etc.) & enabling others (e.g. Asian language support). So if u remove this VO all the items that were originally disabled will become enabled & vice-versa, hence if u want to just re-enable Asian language support then u have to code this single setting (provided u know where it is).

What does it do, if anything, in a car with the HK stereo?

BMW Logo, you can change it to the M-Performance Logo I think with KOMBI / BMW_LOGO = mpm:

so that works on any f30/10? to change to Mperformance logo?

On the F10, L7_SURROUND_CONFIG replaces the "Surround" on/off checkbox with an "L7 Surround" Slider (-5/+5) on Settings=>Tone screen. The Slider appears to function as off (full left) and on (any setting other than full left).

Basically, it doesn't work as it should.

It seems so as long as you have it in your KOMBI CAFD (i.e ISTA/P 48.x on the car)
