The main point is that we all know where we are now and how things are going for the time being with BMW. Finally!!!

I was going to pay $1700 for the sport pack anyway, so the M-sport package is only going to be an additional $1800 in extra cost versus just the sport pack.

I was ONLY going to get the $900 19" wheels on a standard sportline car because it was the only way to get 255mm tires on the back. Tire width in back is what I care about, not the wheel size.

The M-sport line comes with 255mm rear tires on the standard 18" wheels at no extra charge on top of the M-sport package cost, so that's $900 extra that I would have spent on a basic sportline car for 255mm tires on back that I now don't need to spend extra on top of the trim line cost if I get the M-sport.

So the $3500 M-sport cost, after backing out the $900 19" wheels and the cost of the sportline package at $1700 which I will no longer need means that the M-sport package will allow me to get the total car options I want at only $900 more than what I was going to pay before.....

I was going to get Metallic paint anyway, so the cost of getting Estoril Blue is a wash, was going to get the M-adaptive suspension anyway, so the cost of that is a wash, and don't care about getting the M brakes, so no cost to me there.
Any metallic paint, including estoril, will be an added cost option even on the M sport. They mention the blue color as it's only available on the the M sport, not that it's included in the package cost.

Yes, you will get wider rear tires in standard 18" size.

The M sport package cost is not too bad for a cosmetic package that gives some nice things on top of the sweet body kit.

You're probably not aware but our standard features list in Australia is greater than the USA.

Thanks for the heads up.
I know, at times it can get confusing making comments, as there are differences in different markets.
I didn't mean to add to it.

I was responding to that post as the poster is from AZ/USA.

Out of curiosity, what does Australia get with the M-sport that the US does not get?

The sports auto is standard on Aussie specced cars except for the 318d, which has standard 8 speed auto.

The main feature about the sports auto is the steering wheel mounted paddles for 'manual' gear changing.

Anyone in Australia know if their dealer has actually placed their order with BMW?
At the time of putting my order in the sales indicated the Aug build order list isn't open yet... I wonder if that's changed now

My Dealer placed the order with BMW back in March, but because F30 M-Sports are not being built yet, apparently every so often (monthly perhaps) the order comes back and has to be manually re-ordered. Something like that my dealer told me.

Aug build has not yet opened. Obviously still a little too early.

hmm... are you sure they placed the order in March?
my understanding is that each dealer gets certain allocation of vehicles each month... and until the production order for that month is open they can't order your car... they can only put you on their internal list of cars to order...

Hence my concern that the dealer may not have put in the order of my car to BMW

Yes, so I'm told. I cannot verify that though.
Probably why the order keeps coming back to them.

I do not have a production number yet as the M-Sport is not in production as we know. I'm just hopeful that my order will be one of the first in line when production does start.

I'm over my initial excitement and have settled into a patient, waiting pattern. I still have my wonderful E90 to enjoy!!!

Nothing anyone can do with the orders at the moment.
