What was your first car?
What was your first car and when did you get it?
Mine was a 1987 Honda Civic hand-me-down sedan. She was slow, but man she was a great-handling little car and fun to drive. I got her when I turned 19 and my mom bought a newer Honda Civic. She looked like this:

Loved every minute of driving my 1999 Toyota Avalon until this drunk under-21 teenager hit my car. This was in Rowland Heights on Colima Road and Fullerton. I was on a date for Valentine's day and waiting to turn on a green arrow and this guy rear ends me (please note that my car is not moving at all).

1993 Geo Metro XFI (2 door)
I was 15 years old. Put chrome wheels on it. Tint. System. Dropped the clutch constantly, burned rubber. Pulled the e-brake to go sideways. Yep, she was a champ.

1997 ford explorer xlt... it was forest green w/ beige cloth. had that car threw 2 accidents: rear ended by a girl in her dads land rover (car had a rhino rack, b/c rhinos just roam the NJ countryside) and a cracked front axle (old man turned into the front wheels while they were at full lock).
a collapsed suspension + 164,000 miles put it to rest |

My first car was 1987 Mazda Rx7 Turbo2. Loved that car and the whole rotary engine... you could rev it up to 8k RPM without any issues... until an apex seal blows
 ha!

I built my first car. A 1966 Corvair Corsa, that I modified and installed a mid-engined Chevy 327 (from a Corvette) and built for Autocross racing. It started my love for mid-engined cars and racing, so 20-something years later, I got my first race car, that also was mid-engined.
First cars were 1966 Dodge Coronet 440, and Corvairs though. Before that I had motorcycles. |
