My friend was in jail (Jail, not the penitentiary. Everyone's in for under a year, or they're gonna get carted somewhere else, not the heavy duty shit). When he finally was allowed to get his iPod in for good behavior, no it wasn't stolen or anything... but it had to be checked out first. He almost got the shit beaten out of him because he had Wu Tang Clan on it and that's "fake ass white rap". Luckily his other taste in rap happened to save him. He also said he felt very compelled that he "had" to share, though as I said it was never forcefully taken. Still... It's not fun. Lots of lifting weights, doing nothing, wondering what's happening outside.

I guess it all depends on how you carry yourself when you're locked up. I have many friends that were locked up and many of them are deported right now. Most of them would rather be locked up over in america..

Murder of any kind probably isn't going to fly. There doesn't seem to be any evidence he intended to kill anyone, much less planned it. More likely it would be involuntary manslaughter (i.e., he intentionally did something that led to a person's death, but he did not intend to kill). Maybe voluntary manslaughter at most.

No... First degree murder requires premeditation. You don't think about knocking a stranger out; it's random. Hence, it wouldn't be first degree. But this crime is senseless nonetheless...
