Between the Documentary Fee and Dealer Inventory Tax I paid an additional $288.72, but my dealership tinted my windows (Ceramic Tint) with no charge to me, so I figure it's pretty much a wash.

So, if I order around June, are you saying it will be a 2013 model?
Thank you.
I don't want to tell you, "yes", positively as I too want to make sure.
But, that is what my CA wrote me in an email.
I told him that I would rather go with a 2013 since it's very near the July change over, and his response was that if I order in June we could get a 2013.

As far as an Msport, he didn't say if I could order in June.
Last time we talked he said Msport orders would start in July.
But then I don't see why there would be a difference.
2013 model year production begins in July, so ordering an Msport or sport line shouldn't matter if it's in June of July.
Getting a June order for a 2013 probably means that it would be one of the first 2013's to get built, so we'd be in very early and get a 2013 as soon as possible.

My main concern was good lease rates. The rates right now are very good for a 2012. If I order a 2013 in June I can have the lease rates that are effective when I order, then when the car arrives if the lease rates are better I can have those instead. BUT, he said the rates can hold for 90 days on an ordered car. So if I order on June 1st I can have those rates until the end of August, which means my new 3 needs to show up by then.

I'm sure a 2013 will have excellent residuals as it's the new model. I'm just worried that the money factor/interest on the lease may be higher.
Plus, I'm sure there will be the standard base price increase of about $200-$300, unless BMW keeps it lower or unchanged.

Given that 2012 residuals are 65% for 10k miles per year, I may go for a new 2012. After all, many bugs have already been worked out and I doubt there will be many changes for 2013 if at all. The 2012 model "year" has only been, what, 4 months?
I think the new 3 came to the US in February, right?
I'm actually surprised that BMW is going to go with a 2013 model year starting this July.
Thank you for your input.
I will be buying not leasing it.
I just would hate to get a 2012 model knowing that if I had waited ONLY one month, I would have gotten a 2013 model.
But, who knows, right?
Thanks again.

That's one hell of a discount.
BMW is discounting remaining 2011 3's like crazy.
Show's you how much mark up there really is.
I've seen $10K off MSRP on loaded 3's still on dealer lots when they did the E90 face lift.
New X5 for 2014

The loan rates were good up until the end of April, I think 2.9% but not sure how long.
The new rate as of May is up to 3.9%.

Since you're buying, unless you can get a good discount on a 2012 lot car, you may as well wait and get a 2013. We won't get them till probably early Sept, off chance late August.

What model are you getting?

I'm still deciding between 328i and 335i, sport line, premium, sport auto, HK audio. I may go mineral gray, but I think silver with coral red, or melbourne with black. Brushed alum trim with red accent.
The red accent is much nicer in person. It's much much darker than any picture I've seen.

I'm keeping options to a minimum, at least what is minimum now considering all the things BMW offers.

If I go with the 328i same options except I'll add xenons. I live in suburban country like area and the xenons are awesome out here at night.

Msport is an outside chance. It depends on the actual cost of that package. It looks sweet, but for basically a cosmetic pkg. I don't want to pay more than $1000-$1500 above what a sport line costs.

I just ordered the 335i today. FINALLY!!! I'm soooo happy.
I got $2110 off the MSRP of $47,395. The CA at the Ocala dealer was awesome.
I made it clear to him that I did not mind waiting another month as long as he could guarantee me a 2013 model. He said that production would start in July and I would be getting the car by the end of August and that it would be a 2013 model. (YES, I got everything in writing from him.)
I did think about getting a 328i but I have to admit that after you start adding options, the price does go up a lot. So, I really didn't mind paying a little bit more for the 335i.
About the interest rate, I will be doing it through Fairwinds Credit Union. (They have the LOWEST rate right now!! Yes, I checked Bank of America, Chase, Suntrust, Wells Fargo, etc...) I can get 2.3% for 5 years or 2.5% for 6 years. (you do have to have automatic payments to get that APR and of course a score above 740) Just by setting up automatic payments, you get 0.25% off your APR.
Thanks for everyone's input! This Forum has been a tremendous help!!!!!

Excellent choice!

My config on 2012 335i was a bit under $49K.
I haven't seen 2013 pricing.
What is your configuration?
Did you see the 2013 price list?
Was there an increase in base pricing for the model year?

Do tell.

This is what I got:

- Alpine White
- Sport Line Trim
- 18" wheels (I don't know but they look a lot sportier than the 19")
- Premium Package
- Shift paddles
- Brushed Aluminum trim
- Leather Dakota Black/ red highlight

The CA sent me the paperwork showing 2013 model. The price is the same he said.
As I said, I told him that I would wait another month in order to get the 2013 model.
My advice to anyone out there who will be BUYING, not leasing it, wait just a little bit longer and get the 2013 model.
Make sure you do everything via email or get in writing from your CA!! You definitely don't want the "He said, She said" BS!!
