Had my oil changed today.

Just a bit over 3000 miles. I would have liked to have done it a little earlier but I've been busy.

just cheap peace of mind

I will probably go with 7500 miles or twice annually from here out.

I know a lot of other people will disagree...

Gotcha. I'd def do more than 15k if i purchased it. 7500 to 10k sounds about right.

Did you do it your self? Or did you have the dealership do it for you? Was it free?

or at the service indicator time. They will pay for the services when they get below 1800 miles until due.

I had mine changed recently too. I was also just over 3k miles.

It was at the dealership, and they were having a $79 oil change special.

Turns out, the N20 engine uses less oil than the last engine, so it ended up costing just under $70.

Check your dealer's website for service coupons. I definitely wouldn't pay full price. That's over $200 at my dealer.

First oil change at 3000 seems prudent to me.

400 dollars?! My old RX8 cost me 19.99 and my sister's Cayenne only cost her 30 at the Hilton Head Porsche dealership. What are they doing? Filling it with melted gold? Thank god for no cost maintenance on my new F30.

Yea, I feel like you could definitely find a place to do it cheaper.
