Oh I have a mechanic who is pretty confident they can do the electric part. Just need the seat to fit in the car on the runners.

Okay, think I am giving up for now. The mechanic that was going to do the E90 seat retrofit for me has been told by BMW that the wiring on the F30 seat is completely different to the E90 and therefore no functions (eg. airbags) would work.

Not sure I believe it but its enough to stop me spending £1,200. Guess I'll have to wait until F30s start getting written off and I can get hold of the seats!
