I've always had metallic white and black colors..thinking maybe being bold and unique with the AB. |

I agree to this, I have a E93 M3 in MW and it doesn't hide scratch or touch up paint easy, AW are easier to paint and touch up. The MW does look silveriesh... I switch back to AW on my F30.

I have mineral white and you can tell the difference but the light conditions have an affect on whate you see. When it is bright light outside the color looks almost like alpine white but with a light silky sheen on it, under low light (twilight) conditions it takes on a very very light grey look. I like the mineral white for a couple of reasons 1. more depth to the color 2. fewer cars with this color. I was originally going to get the alpine white, becuase it does look great, until my CA talked me into the mineral white metallic.

We looked at 2 bimmers next to each other - 1 AW and 1 MW and went with the MW for our F30. The AW looked very flat compared to the MW. Plus there was an M3 on the road in MW and it just sparkled.

In three or four years no colour is going affect resale value. If you're buying it and only going to turn it over, get the colour YOU want.

I went looking for an alpine white and ended up getting the mineral white. Love it, everytime the sun shines on it as I get close. It always amazed me. And I've had the car for over a year now!

I am so happy i chose MW. It shows the lines better on the car and hides the dust. At night it is silverish but during the day it is white. From afar it really shows the shininess and it looks like its always newly waxed.

Reading through the thread I see that there is not much difference between MW and AW.
1 - Day time look the same 2 - Night AW is white and MW look grey-ish 3 - If need to paint/repair chip MW will not match paint 4 - They are both sexy colors To me is it worth an extra $550...probably not. Unless you are going for Mineral Grey. Do you thing $550 is worth it for the extra $550? |

2 - Night AW is white and MW look greenish - AW has a yellow hue at night. MW more grayish/silver 3 - If need to paint/repair chip MW will not match paint - Correct. To paint a whole section though they can match it. Harder to touch up small nicks. 4 - They are both sexy colors - Amen! I was really reluctant at first since i had an AW E90. Having the MW for two days now and seeing it day and night, I am glad i chose this color. Glossiness of the paint makes it seem more expensive. Therefore, worth the extra moolah!

2. Looked at them at night too, under white street lights. Both looked white. 3. Not as well, but when you're as critical as I am you'll notice it on any colour. 4. Agree. Horses for courses. You've got it easy where you're from. Down Under a metallic paint is about a $1,200 option before taxes (which can add another ~36% to the price depending on the total cost of the car). |

I picked arctic white. Saved me $800 and looks like my candy white GTI. flat white. Surprisingly it does show dirt as much as one would think. Also living in Canada it hides the salt better
