Interior Durability

E90 and E92 are notorious for soft trim pieces peeling. Anybody know if this is fixed for F30?

If you are talking about the rubberized coating on some of the hard surfaces, I doubt it... I have had 3 bimmers (E46,E90,E60) prior to my new F30 and the coating seems to be the same... The interior fit and finish though is the best I have ever had!

For the interior bits in my cars, twice a year I use a diluted APC at 3:1 or 4:1 distilled water. Then I apply a product called Ultima Interior Guard Plus, which is a vinyl, plastic and rubber sealant. It seals the surface like a paint sealant seals paint, and protects against drying and UV. Then every wash I simply wipe the dust off with a clean wet rag.

But if you are looking for an all in one product you can use weekly, that leaves no sheen, Id suggest 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium Interior Plastic Cleaner.

I would recommend 303 aerospace protectant: http://www.303products.com/shop303/i...protectant.cfm

Interior Cleaner

I suggest Griot's Interior Cleaner if there is dirt or Griot's Speed Shine if not.

fit an finish on the F30 is great, but I did notice that the rubberized coating present on the E90 radio and surrounding areas is not there in the F30. the knobs are but not the surfaces. must be a cost-cutting measure. I loved the rubberized surface in the E90

I loved it until it started peeling . I'll take trim that will last over something that is slightly softer to the touch any day.

How's the leather quality vs. the larger, overall competition?

I guess it depends if you like firm or soft leather. I think the quality is excellent, and looks great. My wife's Cadillac CTS leather is much softer/comfortable though. My guess is that the BMW's will be more durable over time...

Compared to previous BMWs, it seems pretty similar to me...

I've noticed this in my daughters BMW e90, she has the beige interior and the console started to peel in the high-wear areas.. looks kind of shitty because it's white underneath.

My e46 does it really bad too. Especially on the front ashtray lid and sunglasses compartment.
