Fashion Shoot || Frock LA - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

did a little fashion shoot for my friend's brand. I only had one dress to work with, so i tried to keep the looks different.

Personal opinion, but i dont like the bamboo across the shot in #2, too distracting.

#3 is my favorite.

Agree with Spoolin, I like #3 the most, it's the photo that accentuates the features of the dress the most

Dress too dark. Not enough detail (I understand it's a black dress with no real detail per se but the texture is lost)

I really like your eye and composition but the product emphasis needs to be numero uno in fashion.

With that said, I think the first shot is really your best here. The second and third have artistic merit and show the CUT and DESIGN of the product but no texture. The last shot is more of a beauty shot than a fashion shot.

Overall, I like where you are and this of course is just MHO.

nice images, but I'll also agree the bamboo is too distracting.

dark_m3: I generally agree about texture, and I think it would've been nice to be able to achieve that in 3, but i guess I was going for more composition and contrast between the nature and dress. I was drawing on the fact that these dresses are made with sustainable material, and contains bamboo fiber. I can see a great deal of texture from the dress on my MBP. I also have a version with out the bamboo across the picture, and both were delivered, i just like this one better. It gives the picture a dynamic element.

The manner of which it is shot in doesn't say to me that "this dress is on display". They're more about either her personally or the surroundings but not about the wardrobe. I think if you found that in between place of her size and amount of the dress we saw in the frame it could work better. No issues with the environment where it was shot (I like the bamboo a lot actually) but it should be a compliment to the scene - not trying to fight the model for attention.
