ASS stalled the engine twice

Hi all, anyone have experience with ASS stalled the engine before?
I've done around 8000km so far with my 09/12 328i.rang Brisbane BMW for service look up they said if I want to disable that button will cost me $300. I said the actual problem is the car stalled twice and to disable that you guys wanna charge me $300??

Any advice would be helpful please.
Thanks

I have only travelled 1000 km in my car, but I have not had a problem with the ASS. Has your stalling issue only recently occurred?
Had you experienced any problems with ASS prior to the engine stalling issue?
Does the engine stall every time the ASS is active? And then you have to push the Start button to get going again?
Can you still disable the ASS with the button on the dash?

The attitude from your BMW dealer is disgraceful. They should be apologizing to you for selling you a car that doesn't work properly, not charging you for the inconvenience of having to get it repaired.

When I test drove an F30 in October 2012, the Automatic Stop Start also did not work, and the dealer simply disabled it with the on/off button on the dash, prior to the car going into the workshop for a proper fix. The salesman said that it was not uncommon on some 2012 builds, but they knew it could be fixed properly in their workshop.

This feature on your car can be fixed, and should be fixed by the dealer free of charge (unless, of course, you really want the ASS permanently disabled, then you might have to negotiate with your dealer).

Haven't had that problem.

I'd suggest you get the car looked at, that's not normal.

Good luck. My car went into limp mode with barely 300km on the odometer. Got a software update and no problem since. Had to drive a 120d for 3 days though.

The rear of my car sometimes clunk and squat when ASS kicks in.

i have travelled 30k+km and have never had a problem with the ASS stalling. If the dealer says that is normal, scan the report from the dealer that states ASS stalling the car is nothing out of the normal and email BMW Australia. I have tried very hard to confuse the ASS and had no success making the system error. It should never happen especially in an auto

Would be pushing them to do it free of charge... if they continue to decline, i'd escalate further up.

Wanting to disable ASS is one thing, but having ASS cause the car to stall is unacceptable. I'd be getting further tests on the car to make sure nothing else is wrong...It shouldn't stall

Two weeks? With that sort of problem they should be taking it in tomorrow.

They're taking the piss!

I would be on their doorstep in the morning demanding it gets fixed immediately.

I would be jumping up and down until someone listed, the car is dangerous.

Good luck.

Yea felt so stupid or like a d**khead when your car stalled on a intersection. Perhaps I should talk to the sales person instead of the service guy.

This was an issue several months ago for a number of owners who posted on the main board.

No. Either I'm so used to it or the cranking (not creaking - at least my car's engine doesn't creak) has improved somewhat. Not so harsh & sudden these days.

Or is it because I have my hk 600 cranked up, the car vibrates almost all the time anyway.
