N20 328i Intake Prototype
What's up guys, we just finished up with the prototype of our intake today, what do you guys think?
The finished product will most likely be anodized black. We will also be offering the option of a closed box most likely made out of carbon fiber for those that want cooler air. ![]() ![]() We also have protypes of our finished downpipes, charge-pipe, and exhaust for the 328i so be sure to drop by our booth at Bimmerfest to check them all out. ![]() |

Sorry ER, but you started on the cheap & easy road of hot air intakes. Do a proper cold air intake this time...it's a shame the N54 cheap intake saga is repeating itself.
If I were a reputable company I would never create a hot air intake.

As much as I hate to see cone filters on a pipe, he has a point about the IC.
**IF** the IC is properly sized (I say "if" because I have no first hand data on the F30), it doesn't matter a whole lot what the intake air temp is. The turbo compressing the air is where most of the heat comes from and IC should cool the charged air to within probably 10-15*F of ambient air temp. Whether or not the IC is big enough to deal with the increased air temp only before/after IAT measurements would show.

300hp at the crank is more likely to be achieved with a couple of bolt-ons. 300whp (at the wheel) will probably be achievable with full bolt-ons like downpipe, intake, intercooler and exhaust. Remember this is a 2 liter engine...the gains are not as large as the ones for the 335i.

It looks like it takes is hotter air and less air than the stock system. Contrary to your statement, the temperature of intake air with a turbo is critical. That is why the car has an intercooler. A step back from stock.

Additionally, we will be releasing multiple variants of this intake ranging from the economical open air short ram intake as shown all the way to a full blown carbon fiber enclosed CAI.

We're waiting to finish up all of our parts (intake, downpipes, chargepipe, exhaust, and intercooler) and do a step by step dyno when everything is ready so we can keep daily external factors consistent
