Anyone driven a "Basic Model" 328i with 17" wheels

Any feedback on the feel of the "Basic Model" with leatherette, 17" wheels, few options- are wheels decent looking, interior feel OK? I'm looking to get my wife a new 328i to replace a '08 335i sport (she complains of too stiff/harsh a ride around town and I agree)- so thinking that 17" wheels/tires with new comfort setting may do the trick? Anyone test driven one yet?

Comfort setting on base will not have any affect on suspension, only throttle response and steering feel. Could always get a sportline with active suspension, that in comfort would probably be smooth for her, then when you drive it put it in sport and the suspension will get tighter.

Might want to ask your questions here, the OP got a base 328. Personally, I like the looks of the base wheels a lot more than the modern or lux wheels. (There's a pic in the post.)

Have you considered changing the 335i's tires from RFT to non-RFT and adding the OEM spare wheel package or mobility kit in the trunk ? Would make for a much better ride, while keeping the power...

Also you can change the suspension with the non-sport one (with minimal investment like less than $1000) and further improve the comfort.

We have an '08 328i base suspension with non-RFT tires and my wife still thinks it has a stiff, bumpy ride. Two weeks ago we had a F30 328 Modern for a loaner, 18" wheels. The ride was much smoother and rated high in comfort on the wifemeter.

Keep the 335i (N54 is such a beast of an engine). Swap to Non-RFT tires. If that doesn't work, find someone with non-sport 335i 17" wheels and swap with them. You could go even more extreme and swap in the non-sport suspension.

I'm sure that'll still work out to be cheaper than a new F30.
