Lease maintenance question

Hey guys If I chose to go 36/60000, what maintenance should I expect during that gap? Any potential issues?

I will probably stay with the 30/50,000 but I just wanted to make sure.

I know. It would be terrible to pay thousands of dollars for some repairs or maintenance when I won't even own the car. I don't remember it being all that much cheaper either.

Did I mention, I really don't want to pine over lease calculations again? haha.

Admittedly, I come from a different manufacturer's background (Toyota), but I have to believe that a "normal" maintenance schedule should easily provide you with adequate insurance. A maintenance-free 60,000 miles should be NO problem for a new BMW.

That's not necessarily true. Look at the last 335 and how many problems occurred early on with it. I wouldn't take the chance. Do a 30 month lease if that what it takes to stay under 50k.

Can you not ask for the extended warranty? I believe it's a couple of thousand dollar for 2 year/20K miles extra. It would take away some of the risk.. sure it's still a few thousand but it could potentially save a lot too.

But, then again, I have no idea if you can do this while under a lease, they did offer me this as an option if I were to keep my car after my lease.

Are you saying you might lease 3 years at 20k miles per year?

your car most likely not have a huge problem in those 6 months. Nothing that will equal paying the premium to do a 20k/year 30 month lease.

Yes the 335 had problems but the biggest issue (HPFP) is covered for 100k miles. So no worries there.

63%

I trade cars often and put a lot of miles on, so with a depreciating asset, this seems like a prudent way to go based on my history

What company are you leasing through that is giving you that good of a residual for 20k miles per year? BMWFS is only doing a 62% residual for 15k miles on the 2012 3 series.

you are right, I'm waiting for final figures, because I dont think that my CA properly counted the extra mileage, unless he is giving me 15000 miles for the last 1/2 year LOL

Probably .15 cents per mile over the 15k. I saw in another thread you are using a dealer in Atlanta. By chance is it Adrian out of South Atlanta BMW?

Great guy. I'm in Alabama and ordered a 530i from him back in 2006. That was when he was still at Nalley. He gave me a quote on ordering a 2012 335i this week. My M3 lease is up in 2 months and I'm trying to decide whether to buy it or turn it in. I love it but damn the price of gas just keeps going up and I'm only getting 13 mpg.

right. I guess it depends on how much you drive as well. my 335i is a daily driver. A used 2011 550i crossed my mind, but I actually did not care for the drive and gas would be outrageous as I put on 60 miles a day to and from work.

The F30 is the 335i that I wish was there when I bought my E90 335i

Pretty good residual for the miles. Wont find many people willing to sell an F30 for $1k over invoice right now either.
