The only part of the modern line I like are the satinated chrome exterior pieces and the turbine wheels.

Estoril Blue II for 328i me. Not sure how to handle the wait. Still getting a lot of fun out of my E90 325i. Just did some country driving recently after a long time. It was terrific in DS with the BMS in action.

I like the exterior of the Sport best, but the interior just doesn't do anything for me. The saddle brown interior on the Luxury line is to die for, IMO. So I prefer Luxury line.

I totally agree (however, it's difficult for someone originally from Baltimore to agree with someone from Indianapolis!).

love the wheels and styling elements on the exterior of the sport line. Also love the interior black high gloss with red strip, but not sure about the red stitching on the seats. As terrible as it seems, I am sure that it will be well put together and thought out once I see it in person.

Does it bother anyone else that the "red dash accent/stripes" color does not match that of the actual leather on the seats?

Most of the still and video shots I've seen are overexposed due to everything-else-inside being black tricks the cameras into making the blackness more grayish and the red more pinkish. That's just what auto-exposure does unless overridden. I believe that I read that it is red-anodized aluminum, which I have seen on many aftermarket items and usually looks very cool, but not as saturated as a painted item, the way it appears in this "photo." Hopefully close enough, though. I cannot remember any reviewers who were at the Spanish reveal and drive complain about the red insert. That was probably not their focus though either. I think that it will look just fine, and I'll find out for sure in about 5 weeks. My red-interiored car is at the port in Germany. |

I'm bummed that I can't get an M-Sport 335 with Saddle Brown interior. Maybe they will mix that up a little on the xDrive and F32 models.

I was educated in the Eastern section of Germany so my second language (had no choice in the matter was Russian). That is why I mentioned the Eastern area above. So if we check the Internet on Modern we get this ... Word History: The word modern, first recorded in 1585 in the sense "of present or recent times," has traveled through the centuries designating things that inevitably must become old-fashioned as the word itself goes on to the next modern thing. We have now invented the word postmodern, as if we could finally fix modern in time, but even postmodern (first recorded in 1949) will seem fusty in the end, perhaps sooner than modern will. Going back to Late Latin modernus, "modern," which is derived from Latin modo in the sense "just now," the English word modern (first recorded at the beginning of the 16th century) was not originally concerned with anything that could later be considered old-fashioned. It simply meant "being at this time, now existing," an obsolete sense today. In the later 16th century, however, we begin to see the word contrasted with the word ancient and also used of technology in a way that is clearly related to our own modern way of using the word. Modern was being applied specifically to what pertained to present times and also to what was new and not old-fashioned. Thus in the 19th and 20th centuries the word could be used to designate a movement in art, modernism, which is now being followed by postmodernism. So it has been around fro some time I see nothing wrong with the word at all ...

I guess the older folks will get the Luxury Edition.
Jason, do you know if there will be F30's at the Toronto International Auto Show next month? Like the Blue 335i Luxury and wood/saddle brown interior? looks fantastic.
