and truncated to find more hidden information! Awesome

Enjoy!
Yes, the configurator is up and works now. BUT WHY NO M SPORT YET?

36 MPG HWY!!!

Found that in the highlights, but also says 230 hp, which I think is wrong. 36 MPG seems high, so maybe that's wrong too?

They subsequently changed the 230hp to 240hp, so maybe the 36 is a good estimate

It is a little slow and somewhat buggy, but I am sure they will work it out.

because you cannot order it in the 2012 model year, we have to wait a few months for the 2013 model year build ordering to begin

I assume the 328i having standalone zenons as an option is a bug that will get yanked soon? They also list shadowline or aluminum window trim being available on the sport line, which I imagine will get the ax for the US too.

I noticed you can't order the sport automatic transmission with anything other than the Sports line. Bug? Or was this overlooked by bmwconfig.com?

Does anyone else have a big problem with the fact that to get Xenons on the 328i you have to get the expensive Premium Package and to get Navigation you need the Tech Package.

I understand that this tactic is specifically designed to upsell... but in my case I will actually deter me from getting this car. Or waiting until I can by the spare parts and add things on my own (conveniently voiding the warranty)

Overlooked by bmwconfig.com. That limitation was published in the ordering guide quite a while back.

Xenons have an exclamation by them that says adding will add Premium Pkg.
(unless you already have ZPP checked, then you don't see the note)

Also kind of disappointed in the number of exterior colors available.

Yeah, the interior color selections now force the required Line selection.

Why no Jet Black in the exterior color option? Is this configurator ready?

The US configurator has much higher quality images that UK/German versions.
We also get the 360deg views that can be zoomed.

Now have the best view yet of the halogens.

Absolutely on Xenons. I hope they make them standard in 1-2 years or do away with the unnecessary ZPP requirement.
BTW, this also really only affects Base & Sport Line buyers, since they force you into ZPP anyway if you get Modern or Luxury.

Not so much on Tech Package. Nav is usually ~$2K, so for $550 more you get HUD, so, if I wanted Nav, I would be happy to pay a little extra for HUD.
FYI, the same HUD is a $1300 option on the F10.
