So E90Fleet, do you think the door has to come apart or are their external fasteners somewhere under the mirrors? I'd be afraid of takling apart the door or window section for fear of screwing up its weatherproof sealants. In other words, I wouldn't want to do the swap and then contend with years of a leaky door/window when it rains because I made a mistake. Just wondering if this is a simple DIY task or I have to have a professional do it.

I havent seen the F30 instructions yet, but usually one can just pop out the mirror glass and then get access to the fasteners at the back of the mirror cap. Then just unscrew the fasteners, replace the cap, refasten and insert the glass again No touching the doors at all Only thing is to be careful when popping out the mirror glass so you dont crack it
