I think the 4/3 coupe will be a real looker in the flesh. I see hints of DB7 which is not a bad thing at all.

Most Bimmers grow on me... except the Bangled ones and thank the lord we're done with that BS.
Ha, that's funny. FYI the 1M your driving is a Bangle design.

I'm sure it'll look better once the cameo is off.....

But so far, I'm liking the sedan better. Especially the M3 sedan.

Looks as long as those old cartoon Texas cars but bet in the end it will outshine the sedan.

I completely agree with your point. b33g33 is an idiot.

But I really want to pull my hair out every time I see 'your' used when the correct word is 'you're' ...what has your country's education system come to?

people should take these pictures/videos for what they are, a car that is heavily concealed, and trying critique them is really pointless at this point, until bmw officially reveals it.

The Coupe of course will have a unique appearance to distance itself from the Sedan and establish the 4er insignia.
So in some design details you can look at the F30 and some details and think completely opposite. Some F30 design elements are carried over but are interpreted differently on the Coupe. Think of how they can be applied completely opposite from the interpretation on the sedan.

The new 4er Coupe will of course inherit the Coupe bloodline from the 6er which means sleek looks and sportier proportions.
And some characteristics including that "bow"like design feature , strong L-Shaped headlamps and headlamps with enclosed indicators with the 4er bringing in the unit behind the headlight glass and not open like the 6er.

With 3 models scheduled for the 4er - Coupe , Cabrio and Gran Coupe. Brings the 3er family (including all M variants) up to ten models with other concepts under investigation. The excellence of the new 3er family is that it will now be more profitable than before.
The individual model lines will increase profitability as will the flexibility of the modular matrix that underpins these models.

Of course the 4er will mean You will have up to 2013 to debate about this. Intensively...

Scott.. does "sleeker" mean longer in BMW terminology..?

If so, plz do not make any more "sleeker" cars. Or, does BMW happen to forget, that longer means heavier and bigger? (unnecessary weight added due to creative genius?)

Single men, upgrading from a 3 series sedan, do not want a bigger, sleeker car than the one designed for families & more people. They want a car more diminitive, worthy and based on ability to move about the streets with nimbleness. Not in some larthargic boat that LOOKS sleeker than the 3 series, but end up being BIGGER. Less is more...

So basically, we have 2 years before we can see/purchase the car? Which means the M version of this is probably 3 years away. BMW simply wants moAr profits and doesn't really car about it's portfolio in America? (Plz explain)

Scott, (again) why does BMW expect us single men, to wait 2 years for BMW to develop the 2 series and the 4 series? (Or wait even longer for the M variant of those cars)..?

BMW is not hurting, but it is nice to know that BMW wants moAr profits, but how does that serve the BMW enthusiast who is unable to purchase a single car u make? Not having a product & forcing people to wait 2 years before BMW will grace us with 2 door coupes?

So Scott, is that^ really BMW's marketing take on this... that coupe drivers should honestly wait.. & instead discuss the 4 (2 series) series until 2013..? Just making sure I understand BMW's marketing, before I move on to another manufacturer who isn't over-leveraged and isn't promising, but producing cars.

Do you really think that BMW is going to move away from what got them here? There is a current E92, the F32 will be an evolution of that, just as the F22 will be an evolution of the E82. BMW isn't going to build a Cayman to replace the E92. Compare the F30 to the E90 to see what's going to happen. It will get longer, a little softer and probably a little bit lighter and more efficient.

No 3er has ever been a sports car, this one isn't going to change that. It's not like BMW isn't building a 3er coupe right now, one that still wins awards and comparisons. If you want a "single man" car, there are all sorts of choices out there, German and otherwise.

What's wrong with the 1 series and 3 series coupes that are on the market now? You can go down to the dealership right now and buy brand new 2012 models today if you wish.

You make it sound like BMW is singling out coupe drivers and intentionally trying to piss them off. All BMW models go through the same seven year product cycle.

As an aside, I suspect there is some correlation to the level of whininess you seem to exude and the fact that you are a single man. Just sayin.

Very Much Agreed! I too have owned an E46 and believe it Still is the Best looking M3 next to the E92 M3. I just cant see where BMW is going with the new 3er Coupe. I just hope the end result is something nice at least! We shall see...
