Ariz. Law is working
Before it even goes into effect, it's working. Good for them. Since the feds can't do anything about it and Janet "The system worked" Napolitano thinks everything's hunky-dory, Arizona takes matters into its own hands.
"Illegal immigrants plan to leave over Ariz. law" http://apnews.myway.com/article/20100429/D9FCDCN00.html The operative word being ILLEGAL.

There is no way in hell I am going but would like to be a fly on the wall.
Thousands are supposed to show up for some protest to AZ's doings in downtown Dallas.

Did you guys see the article that AZ Gov Jan Brewer had in ESPN? Here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/comme...=brewer/100505
Living in northern Virginia, illegal immigration has always been somewhat of an afterthought for me. Most of the Mexican people I have encountered seem to be friendly, hard working and generally good people. But I'm not from a border state, and from what I understand this is just as much about drugs and crime as it is about anything else. And I'm not sure you can really weigh on this law if you aren't from somewhere (San Francisco) that has been really affected by some of the activities around the border. Even some of the most liberal friends that I have in AZ support this, not because they haven something against Mexicans, but because they see what some of the cartels and people smuggling are doing to their neighborhoods. And really, that gives all Mexicans a bad name - even if the vast majority are here doing work that no American would do, for less wages and limited (if any) benefits. But alas, no politician wants to touch this because whoever is on the wrong side will forever alienate what will be the largest voting bloc of Americans in the next decade. Anyway, I'm no expert but that's my $.02. |

How about if when we send the illegals back to where they came from we tattoo THEIR foreheads with big letters "IA" That way if they enter the US again we can spot them right away.
Sort if like a scarlet letter. |

How about we tattoo the CEOs of the corporations that hire illegal aliens. It could read something like "I hire black market labor to keep costs down"

I read an article today about a mother with 2 hispanic children, all of them are are legal, but the children were worried and asked the mother if they were going to be asked for their "papers".
This mother can thank all those that oppose the law that have blown things all out of proportion, for this. The governor of AZ is NOT to blame for the woman's children being worried about their papers, since the law is NOT going to result in police stopping hispanic children on the street and asking them for papers. All this loudmouth opposition has gone way too far. ....and now they have the biggest loudmouth of all....Mr Hot Air himself, Al Sharpton getting involved. I cant believe you guys are glad for the IA's getting sent back. I just dont think its fair for them. Wouldn't you want a chance/ opportunity for a better life if you were born in a 3rd world country? Most of the worthless POS scumbags and homeless in the US are the citizens. Whatever though it is, what it is.

There is a process to live here legally if you come from a third world country. Whether or not that process should be more accommodating is a different debate. |
