These are purported to be pics of a very early test mule for the next generation BMW 3-series (F30). If true, the modifications to an E90 body are likely for chassis testing only, but hint that the F30 3-series will have a wider (and perhaps longer) wheelbase. Expect the actual final sheet metal to be different, of course. The F30 3-series is expected in 2012.
And please, please don't make posts such as "it's hideous." If this is truly a test mule, it's only undergoing chassis testing and what you see here is not at all indicative of what the F30 will resemble. This was only posted because it would be an interesting bit of news to know that the next generation 3-series is already undergoing testing. |

![]() since it seems to be just chassis test like the OP said....so i dun really care what does it look like on this spy car....BMW didn't even bother to put too much camoflauge on it as well... i guess the look of the car wun be finalize until 2010-2011.....

It's my new widebody kit. ;-)
Interesting they've used the original E90 hood, etc. And I thought they were changing direction and moving to smaller cars, or at least holding steady at the current size, rather than the normal size creep. |

I thought people were just f-ing around being funny, but I think some of the comments were serious. For those who don't understand, these are just some stock body panels, some modified to fit, slapped onto a new chassis to test. The body panels won't look anything like this.

Quality is everything

I don't get why BMW or any other car makers doesn't paint such test mules a flashy color and put on some aftermarket alloys. Then we all would be clueless and we could have a giggle.
