[quote=NYC6;9186313]nice. Dont know if I care for the skeletonized foregrips or not though. They might grow on me. Im looking to add a 16" collapsable varient to my Colt HBAR. How much are they?

Yeah the quad rail on the Daniel Defense M4v3, another rifle I am looking at, is even more "radical" looking in appearance. Like you said, it grows on you. I'd most likely put a vertical foregrip on either rifle.

That's a fine looking Colt you have there sir.

hell yes...evil and menacing!

From various forums, it appears that the top tier AR companies come down to:

BCM, Colt, Daniel Defense, LMT, Knights Armament, Noveske.

I hope to add one of these to the collection one day, but gotta get a bigger safe for that first.

Thanks. Bought in BNIB in '89. Also at that time I bought the Colt AR-15 4X scope. The scope has a bullet drop click adjsment knob for .223's from 100-500yds in 100ys incriments. They are pretty hard to come by nowadays.

Try the 229 also if you can. The 228/229 series fit my hand better than the 226.

I like the 226 over the 229. I'm a fan of longer guns if you don't have to carry or conceal. I'd take the longer version of whatever over the short version. Especially if you just target shoot or plan to use it for home defense.

My cousin took me to the range... not sure of the details.

Regarding distance... I'll find out tomorrow as I'm going again
It was at 2 bars first then the end (which i 4 bars), and if i remember right each bar represents 15 ft. But don't quote me.

50 Bullets coss $19 for .40, $18 for 9mm, and $21 for .45

good prices bad prices?

Nice.

I don't think those prices are way off, I seem to recall paying less in Texas, but then it is Texas. In Cali, I think that's probably about what I paid. But I go so infrequently that I don't quite know (and when I show up, I don't really care, I'll pretty much pay whatever) - I'm sure others will know right away if those are good prices.

If you've never shot a .50 cal revolver before - that is certainly an experience

I don't think I'd do it again, but definitely worth doing it once just for fun. Forget accuracy (and make sure you grip down low too - I think there was a mythbusters on this and it was actually proven that if you put your thumb by the cycle you can get injured from the blowback). I shot the .50 in LA - now that had a fricking kick, maybe partially because I gripped down lower than I normally would. I got my wife to videotape that experience - its good, if I go shopping with her, she'll come to the range with me - pretty cool

Those prices are pretty standard for the range. I usuall pay ~$23 for a box of 100, and ~$70 for a box of 250 (9mm).

The distance is wrong though. No way you did that from 30 and 60 feet. Maybe 10 and 25.

I suggest buying your ammo at Walmart. Cheapest so far but usually out of stock.

Like I said, don't quote me on the distance

I'm going today so I'll ask the guys there how many feet each thing is.

I'll report back . You are probably right on the distance, I was going off of memory.

$23 for 100 would be great.. they said I have to use their ammo since I'm using their guns

I can just buy a box of 50 and then use my own bullets.. they can't count how many I use...

Damn thing is adding up a lot though

Spent $60 Monday, probably another 40-60 today

spent $130 over the weekend... lol

No way. I think I paid like $25 or so for a box. Mind you, the box size is only 10 rounds. Like $2.50 per round. May have been $30 for a box...was a while ago.

Still...Persian - its worth it

From what I've read and asked Wal Mart is the place to go

but not all of them have it

honestly if the difference is only going to be like $3 per bag it's not worth it lol

the nearest wal mart that has them is a 15mi drive

30 mi=2 gallons=$8.50 about in the M3...

Online?

Yeah doubt a wal mart in South Central would carry ammo....

I rememeber I did a quick search online and it was like 28 for a bag of 100 .40

so about $5 difference per bag. I need to find it again. $5/bag adds up lol
