Is this a good deal or should I push for more?

2013 f30 335i order (car is not on the lot)
sport line
alpine white
tech package
manual
HK audio
leatherette
anthracite wood trim
dest fee

price per bmw car builder is $49620

my offer to the dealer is:
$46,500 - $1000 recent grad = $45,500

my two questions:
- am i making a good deal, or not?
- does anyone know what are the financing rates for 60 mo. when using the recent grad program?

thanks

There is no objective measure of what a good deal is. If you are satisfied with the price you pay, it's a good deal. Should you push for more? Why not? Do you want to pay more?

As for financing, you can find that on BMW's website and at your bank. I strongly recommend you arrange financing at your bank before you go to buy your car so that you can then have a basis for negotiating your interest rate, forcing BMW NA and your bank to compete to earn your loan.

It has been a while since I dealt with BMW dealers and as we all know, they are "different". That is why I want to find out if the deal I am getting is great or maybe I am overseeing any other discounts or incentives.

The USAA is a very sweet deal ($1500 off), but dont think I will qualify. If I am not mistaken in order to get the discount I must show them insurance card with them, and I am not using any of their services.

You can do the US Olympic team drive thing to get a coupon for some money off, I think it's $1k. Check BMW's website to see if you can participate in it a a dealer near you. You'll also find any other announced incentives/discounts there.

If you want the best discount, you should be looking at an E90, not an F30. The E90 is a fine car and the discounts available right now on them definitely make it worth buying on instead, provided you see the car as transportation more than anything else. From financial and logical standpoint, it's clearly the one to get right now. If you are driven more by pathos, then you'll go with the F30.

I ordered an F30 for my son as a graduation gift, and I'll tell you when I heard about the huge E90 discounts, I scoured every BMW store in the DC area -- there are six of them -- to find an E90 that came relatively close to what I wanted to buy him. I did find one and paid in full for it, though I refused to drive it off the dealer's lot until the car I ordered arrives. (The dealer doesn't like that I did that, but he won't do anything about it either. FWIW, you can return a car anytime so long as you haven't taken delivery, which is what driving it off the lot constitutes.)

The e90 is a good car indeed, I agree - the problem is that I never liked the looks of it. That is why I ended up with a e92 back in 2008.

You make me chuckle. This morning when I replied to you, your "Drives:" said 335i. Now it says e92.

How does your price compare to the invoice price (before discounts like the recent grad one)? I would say aim for $1000 over invoice, or maybe a little less. You can see the invoice price with the configurator on bmwconfig.com

You are confusing me...I thought that e92 is the code name for the two door 335

Approximately 5 percent off MSRP is a good deal. Financing rates for 60 months average 2.9 percent.

I got 4.56% OFF MSRP so your deal is terrific IMHO.
Your location also plays a role!! One of the dealers here in Orlando wouldn't give me more than 3% OFF MSRP and they let me walk! (Same happened to a few of my friends too)

yes, you are correct. I had to go some miles out of my town to get this deal. Kind of disappointed that the dealer that is 1 mile from my house would not give me this deal...

It's not. It's the code name for a 2 door 3 series from the soon to be outgoing model family. The incoming model family right now consists, in the USA, of the F30, which is a four door.

Reason is that you are making it a lot more complicated than need be... All you need to provide is the amount you're offering over invoice... You're configuration and MSRP make no difference. When you force people to get a calculator and do math in order to respond, most people won't!

Now, that being said, $500 to $1K over invoice should not be hard to get in most areas.

Good luck!

I went to 4 dealers in Southern California.
1- MSRP
2- 2500 over invoice
3- 1000 over invoice
4- 500 over invoice ( I bought this one)

I emailed them the price, they agreed, signed the papers next day. Took less than 30 min.
