Has anyone gotten the $1000 credit for USAA membership? How is this done or proven to BMW?

I have membership but no car insurance or any service from them- does this qualify for the $1000?

You need to have insurance through USAA to qualify. BMW will require a copy of your insurance card.

I read that as you only have to be eligible to purchase USAA insurance, you don't actually have to HAVE USAA insurance

Correct. You don't have to actually have USAA Auto Insurance. I only have a USAA homeowner's policy, and I was able to take advantage of the $1K discount.

You can call USAA and have them email you a letter confirming your eligibility.

I just went through this. I don't have insurance through them, but have bank acct's, etc. Parents in the military.

Call 855-787-6262 and have them fax a "proof of eligibility" letter to the dealer. They can also create a document for you to download online if you want to do it yourself.
