Inside Door Handles
Inside Door Handles on this model are, well, interesting. It took me a bit to get used to the correct amount of force to pull the door toward me without slamming, but also with out half closing, the door requiring a second try.
All the noob passengers that ride with me inevitably half shut the door in order to avoid slamming since no one likes a slammer. But half closing, and needing a second go, is becoming almost as annoying as a brute slam. ![]() Surely, it is down to the placement of the door handle on the inside which is so near to where the doors attach on the body of the vehicle. The way they are doesnt give the closer the best leverage or what not. How about making a space on the door armrest to slide the hand through and yank from the hip rather than the knee only? Probaly been mentioned before but hey, I just had to rant about this. ![]() |

Interesting - I've actually found the same with my passengers. About half of them do the half-closed thing.
I never really gave it much thought. I just thought they were maybe trying to be gentle with a new car. |

You don't have to worry about being too "ginger" with the door, I've personally never had issue with it, nor have my passengers. Haven't found the position of the handle awkward either (shrug).
Quite interesting you're having an issue. I guess if you go with "half" brute force you should be fine. ![]() |

I had the same issue, but with myself, when I first got the car. I even mentioned it to the salesman. They're not set up to give what most cars do in terms of leverage because of their placement (near the hinge rather then the middle of the door).
That said, it took me about 2 days to get the feel and now I don't even notice it. I think it's all in our mind, it doesn't have the same "feel" so we over/under compensate. In all actuality, I think it requires about the same effort as it does to just about any other car with the handles in what we normally would consider normal placement. They do look nicer regardless... |

Wow. Never been an issue with me. Came off an E46 M3 Coupe. Heavy door.

Ya but in our F10 the doors don't seem to have this issue where one has to try closing the door numerous times.

Wind down the windows slightly and release some air pressure.
